Galerie Na shledanou
The gallery resides in an empty funeral hall from the end of the 1980s. During communism, it was an architectural tool for promoting ateism, for which death means the end. Gallery Na shledanou (Goodbye) wants to suggest through its program that there is no life without death, and that on the contrary with death many things begin. Artists create their artworks during residencies. We publish newspaper dedicated to connections between death, life and visual arts. In South-Bohemian Volyně we aim to establish a gallery, which can communicate with artistic means with locals as well as visitors from afar.
Galerie sídlí v prázdné smuteční síni z konce 80. let. Ta byla za komunismu architektonickým nástrojem k prosazování ateismu, pro který je smrt koncem. Galerie Na shledanou chce svým programem říci, že bez smrti není života a smrtí hodně věcí naopak začíná. Umělci tu vytvářejí díla v rámci rezidencí. Vydáváme noviny věnované vztahu mezi smrtí, životem a výtvarným uměním. V jihočeské Volyni se snažíme budovat galerii, která dokáže mluvit prostřednictvím umění s místními i s hosty zdaleka.
